Resep: Cilok (Indonesian Chewy Snack Balls with Peanut Sauce) Recipe

Image
To describe, chewy savory tapioca snack balls, usually filled with cheese, beef floss, sliced hotdog, quail egg and traditionally filled with beef fat. Cilok , it's a popular street food snack in Bandung and can be found in most of cities in West Java. The common condiment for cilok is peanut sauce and spicy sambal . I made my own version of peanut sauce using peanut butter instead of ground peanuts, turned out pretty good.  It took a while for me, I've made cilok several times but I think this ratio is just right to my palate, chewy... if you like it soft then you can use less tapioca and more all purpose flour. It must be served hot otherwise it will be hard and of course not good. If you're too lazy to make peanut sauce, dip it into Japanese roasted sesame dressing, it works! Ingredients : 1-2 cloves garlic 300 ml water or beef broth 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup tapioca flour (sagu tani) 1 tsp beef bouillon powder 1/4 cup sliced green onion salt to taste water for boi

Resep: Dutch Kapsalon Recipe

Image
First attempt making Kapsalon , well sounds weird, bu it's a really good dish. I've tried once and later Kevin's aunt that lives in Netherland introduced us this dish (yes, it's Dutch food). Layer of french fries, meat, garlic sauce, cheese, and salad, definitely all I want in one dish. I used tater tots instead of french fries but turned out pretty nice, garlic sauce is an important ingredients along with cheese. If you can't find garlic sauce then use creamy dressing such as thousand island, creamy ranch dressing, or even blue cheese (for even adventurous flavor). Feel free to skip the sauteed veggies but salad is a must.  Ingredients : 3 cups french fries / tater tots, fried 1-2 cups salad of your choice (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, peppers, onion) 1/2 cup your favorite creamy salad dressing Meat : 200 gr ground beef 1/2 medium onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp dried oregano 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp paprika powder 1 tbsp cooking

Mie Naripan 127: Best Yamin Noodle in Bandung

Image
A humble place to eat yamin noodle and Chinese Food in Bandung, generous portion, various side dishes, and lots of condiments.
