Resep: Salmon Mentai Rice | Beef Shirataki Mentai

It's delicious but really I could not finish one portion, yes thank's to the amount of mayo. So, let's just share.  Mentai Rice , it's actually very easy to make as long as you have kitchen blow torch or use the oven to broil the mentaiko sauce. The sauce itself is made from mayonaise, preferably Japanese mayo like Kewpie and mentaiko (pollock roe / cod roe). If it's hard to find then simply replace it with tobiko (flying fish roe). Please do not skip the fish roe. Anyway, I bought the mentaiko from Tokopedia around IDR 270k for 500 grams, that's a lot, I know. Alternatively, take a look at Papaya Supermarket or other big supermarket as mentaiko is kinda hard to find here. I made 3 dishes with this Mentai sauce, the first one is the one with crabstick served with rice that mixed with nori powder, you can also use furikake. The second is nori rice with salmon aburi. Homemade Poke Bowl: Salmon Poké Recipe

  I'm a big fan of sushi but personally not into sashimi but I love carpaccio and Poke of course, means I love raw salmon with a little or some seasoning. When it comes to poke, I usually go for salmon with plenty of sauce, and pineapple or mango.  So, if you have no idea what is actually Poke? It's Hawaiian by the way, not Japanese though yesss there are a lot of Japanese influences to Hawaiian cuisine.  Keep in mind to ONLY use sushi / sashimi grade fish, salmon and tuna are the most common, if you’re not into raw fish, vegan option, use tofu. Please use clean cutting board. I usually make fresh poke, means it’s served immediately or marinated in fridge for 30 minutes to an hour (don’t forget to wrap the bowl with plastic wrap). HONU Poke & Matcha Bar - Jakarta

Finally a special place for Poke in Jakarta, I think this is the start as Singapore already has several places for Poke. We're joining the hype. Poke is a typical Hawaiian dish, made from marinated (commonly) raw fish, tuna is the most popular, while vegetarian Poke is made using tofu. It goes well with salad or the famous one, with rice known as Poke Bowl. I've never had many Poke Bowl in my life but yes I've tried some and I've made it couple times. Aloha Poke in Singapore is one of them, go check out my previous post here , they have amazing Poke. To describe, Poke is simply a raw fish salad. So many things to do, so little time. Missing South Korea so bad, so I decided to make this simple yet hearty Eomukguk. The key is the broth, reminds me back in Seoul, there's a place close to CGV Myeongdong, a street food stall, they have amazing Eomukguk. I saw the Ahjussi added so many things into the broth, from green onion to dried chili. I think you can really explore the ingredients for the tasty broth. A new family member of Potato Head it's Attarine , located in prime location in South Jakarta, precisely in Gunawarman, few meters away before Sofia. The place is currently open only for dinner but soon they will open for all day dining. Quirky mini car in the middle of the restaurant, open kitchen, wood-fired oven, friendly waiters, so far so good, but let's talk more about the food. They're not specifically serving middle east food, but a twist by using spices that derives from what usually used in middle east cuisine. In common, they serve western food in unique way using local ingredients. From mocktails to cocktails, selected wine to coffee, you can find pretty much anything you want to drink here. Another Japanese food experience, Akira Back . To describe, their menus are quite unique as they present modern Japanese food, western inspired dishes but using ingredients that commonly used in Japanese cuisine with a twist of Korean, to me it's very interesting. Chef Akira Back is a Korean-born, and he used to be a professional snowboarder, more than enough to explain why menus here are quite unique and yass adventurous! Widely known as a Japanese fine dining restaurant, Akira Back Jakarta finally dilated to middle market with IDR 180k ++ set menu, including starter, main, and dessert.
