Mango Sticky Rice (Ketan Mangga Thailand) Recipe

One of my favorite dessert, Mango Sticky Rice or called Khao Niao Mamuang in Thai. Sweet sticky rice, sweet mango, with creamy savory coconut cream, it's just a really good combination. A must to eat whenever I visited Bangkok, and finally I made my own this weekend, thanks to Mark Wiens for the video about how to make Mango Sticky Rice. This recipe is adapted from his, I like the aroma of pandan in my sticky rice so I added some. Please note that you need to soak the glutinous rice for 5 - 8 hours before steaming. Actually there's another option to cook the glutinous rice in a rice cooker but I've not tried it yet so, I will update this post later. Anyway, you can also change the mango with durian (it really works).  Ingredients: 400 gr glutinous rice 250 ml coconut milk 100 gr sugar or less 1/2 tsp salt pandan leaves sweet mango Coconut Cream Sauce : 200 ml coconut milk 1/2 tsp salt or to taste 1 tsp cornstarch (optional) Watch video for the directions. Chocolate Marie Biscuits Pudding

This chocolate pudding is just sooo good, silky smooth, just make sure to get a good quality chocolate powder. You can also use your favorite chocolate drink powder but you surely want to adjust the sugar measurement. Instead of adding Marie Biscuits on top, I tried to put the marie biscuits crumbs into the vla mixture. Well, of course I also added an extra biscuit on top. I keep this recipe eggless but if you're into rich sauce then add an egg yolk into the vla and add some vanilla or rhum, though it's optional. It's good on its own, but there are many things you can make using Oreo. And this is one of them, Oreo Milk Pudding. This recipe calls for tiny amount of agar and jelly powder because I like soft pudding instead of firm, but feel free to add more to your preference. Chill in fridge before serving. I asked Kevin, he said it was a little too sweet for him but my sister said it’s just enough, so.. depending on your taste, you probably want to add less, and adjust later. And about the oreo, it will taste better if you blend it, because soggy cookies is just not my liking but again.. feel free. The most important things are the milk and whipped cream powder to enchance the rich flavor. Sunday Brunch: ROSSO Shangri-la Jakarta

Buongiorno! How to spend weekend? Sunday Brunch sounds great, a bowl of noodles is surely comforting (does it sound very Asian?) but I'm into Italian food and having a plate of pasta instead definitely a yes. Shangri-la Jakarta is famous for its SATOO, breakfast or dinner, they have anything you want from Chinese to Indian food. But personally I turned into ROSSO for Sunday Brunch , from 11 am to 2.30 pm here you can enjoy more than just pasta, from antipasto to selection of wines.  Formaggio - when it comes to Italian food, think about cheese.. cheese pizza, cheesy pasta, even salad with cheese, I found Pecorino (sooo good) and the love-hate Gorgonzola (I'm #teamGorgonzola anyway). To start - I had salad topped with parmesan, more cheese and tomatoes on side, few slices of beef bacon, and my most favorite sauteed mushroom with artichoke. A flashback to Seoul, my lastest trip to South Korea was last year, read about my most viewed writing 15 Must Eat Korean Food Seoul   and the video Must Eat Korean Food in Seoul  on my Youtube channel. Hotteok ( 호떡 ) is generally sweet but I found the savory version filled with Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with vegetables) at Namdaemun Market. The sweet Hotteok usually filled with brown sugar, sometimes sweetened red bean, but you can go with pretty much anything from nutella to cheese. I think it will work with cinnamon sugar too. This recipe is modified from Maangchi , yes my favorite Korean Youtuber. Anyway check out my Youtube for the video. After few attempts finally, Egg Free Matcha Tiramisu . I don't think Matcha Tiramisu is Tiramisu because it's different, let's say it's another matcha dessert that in my opinion it best served cold or even frozen. Tiramisu is Tiramisu, classic Italian dessert made from mascarpone cheese with sponge cake layer, the combination of bitter sweet chocolate and coffee. But if you're into matcha then why not, anything matcha sounds great. Keep it simple with few ingredients but my suggestion, please use the best ingredients you can get. Room temperature mascarpone cheese, pure matcha powder, cold whipping cream, things to note for making this eggless matcha tiramisu. I don't have pretty pic but really it taste better than it looks It's not my first, second, or even the third attempt, I don't think I'm good in baking. But until the day I made this baked cheesecake, "I think I can bake better". You definitely need exact measurement when it comes to baking, also certain technique, sounds complicated but let's make it fun. My sister said it's not cheesecake if it's not baked, OK, so I was a bit nervous when I asked her to taste it, surprisingly she said it was nice, better than my previous. And of course, the raspberry sauce made its important role, do not skip, because it's just great with cheesecake. Before you start baking, make sure that all the ingredients is at room temperature. Also always preheat your oven before baking. I came up with this idea because I personally a big fan of matcha and coconut in the same time. First I though that it'd be just my personal liking, but it turned out really good. I asked some to taste, and they said they love it because of the combination of bitter sweet and savory from the coconut, so I assume, it's definitely worth to try. One thing to remember, get a good quality of matcha powder. Lobo Restaurant At The Ritz Carlton Jakarta

It's located at the lobby level of The Ritz Carlton Mega Kuningan , it's not an Italian restaurant but they have more to offer, from mouth-watering appetizers to sweet delightful desserts. To describe Lobo Restaurant , a contemporary fine dining, with luxurious interior, genial service, and of course good food. This May, a new Chef de Cuisine from a Michelin Star Restaurant in Bordeaux, France named Chef Jan Scwittalla will be part of Lobo Restaurant. Yes, he's German, and I personally very curious about what will he do, probably French dishes or with a twist of German cuisine.
