Resep: Perkedel (Indonesian Mashed Potato Fritters) Recipe

Image
How do you make Perkedel ? The recipes may vary, I like mine with boiled potato instead of fried potato as the result will be nice and soft inside, similar to piping hot takoyaki. It's just great with sauteed ground beef, but classic Indonesian version, it's usually made with canned corned beef. There are two version, the one with egg coating (very common) and with the egg mixed into the dough. Sometimes, I make the mixed one, using this recipe but with extra egg so the dough won't be crumbly in frying process. Perkedel is my favorite, it goes well with chicken soup and rice, soto , or just eat it as a snack, yum!! I share this recipe so you can make your own, feel free to add your favorite ingredients, adjust the seasoning, you know, be creative. Lastly, let me know, share it to my social media, happy cooking. Ingredients: 500 gr potato, peeled, boiled 3 stalks green onion, thinly sliced 80 gr corned beef 1 egg 2-3 tbsp flour 3 cloves shallot, puree 5-7 cloves garlic, pure

This week is all about egg dish, if you're following me on Instagram you may notice that I've posted several egg dishes. What's your favorite egg dish? And now it's Deviled Egg , to describe it's a higher level of hard boiled egg, creamy yolk, similar to egg salad. It is also known as stuffed egg, there many variations, you can add bacon bits (which is really nice), smoked salmon, any of your favorite herbs.  Ingredients : 5 eggs 2-3 tbsp mayonaise 1 tsp mustard 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional) 1/2 tsp vinegar salt and pepper to taste 1 tbsp chopped pickles chili powder as needed some water Directions : Pour water into a pan, add in eggs, then turn on the heat. Resep: Sausage and Bean Sprout Omelette Recipe

Image
I noticed that omelette is a very popular in Bangkok especially at street food vendors. Probably because it's cheap and fast. They use a bit more oil for frying the egg, the result is a crispy omelette, best with hot steamed white rice. From the classy egg only omelette to seafood, personally I think the most important ingredient is coriander leaves aka cilantro, or here we called it daun ketumbar ( wan sui ). Usually they put some on top of the omelette, even better with the garlic chili sauce. This dish is inspired by the street style omelette, with sausage and bean sprout, but feel free to add the other ingredients, also I posted about how to make the Thai Garlic Lime Chili Sauce on my previous blog post.  Ingredients : 2 eggs 1 tbsp water 1 sausage, sliced a hand full of bean sprout some coriander leaves salt and pepper to taste 3 tbsp cooking oil Directions : Crack the egg into a bowl, add in salt and pepper, mix, set a side Heat the pan on medium, pour the oil, stir fry the

Resep: Cheese Okonomiyaki Recipe (Savory Japanese Pancake)

Image
A fulfilling Japanese snack, my version of Okonomiyaki with bacon and cheese. You can do it without bacon if you don't eat pork or replace it with beef bacon, most of people use pork belly but I thought why not bacon? Talking about the ingredients, you surely can add pretty much anything from chicken to seafood and for the veggies, cabbage is a must, in addition I like it with sweet corn. Some of the uncommon ingredients such as okonomiyaki sauce, dashi , aonori , and katsuobushi can be found at certain supermarket in Jakarta such as Grand Lucky, Ranch Market, KemChick, Papaya Fresh Gallery, and AEON Supermarket in Serpong. Ingredients : 1 cup all purpose flour 3/4 cup water 1 cup cabbage 1/4 cup ham / smoked beef 1/2 cup assorted seafood or chicken 2 eggs 3 stalks scallion, thinly sliced 2-4 slices bacon 1/2 tsp dashi salt to taste Toppings : okonomiyaki sauce cheese mayonaise aonori (green nori) katsuobushi (bonito flakes) sliced scallion Watch the video for the directions

Resep: Poached Egg In Tomato Sauce

Image
It looks like Shashouka, pretty much the same, poached egg in tomato sauce but classic shashouka has more spices such as cumin, usually has chili peppers in it. Mine is more Italian, as I used bolognese sauce, also works with marinara sauce. Store bought is just fine but if you want to make your own, check out my Marinara Sauce recipe. Ingredients : 1 cup Italian pasta sauce or marinara 1 egg salt n pepper to taste, if needed mozzarella cheese (optional) Directions : Cook the sauce on a pan, season it with salt and pepper (if needed). Add in the egg, cook longer if you want fully cooked egg or less for runny egg yolk. Serve with bread. Find me on: Youtube  and  Instagram   @heytheresia  for daily food and travel updates
