Resep: Marie Biscuits Shakes Recipe

Image
It's a very simple beverage you can make for any occasion, let's say family gathering? Or just perfect for your me time. I was growing up eating Marie biscuits, especially when I got sick, I had nothing to eat, no appetite, and my mom gave me this along with hot tea. But these days, I prefer Marie biscuits on my ice cream or gelato, yes thanks to the creative gelateria in Jakarta. Once I tried Marie Biscuits Milk in a cake shop, and it gave me an idea to make this recipe. I used canned milk, to be specific it's Bear Brand (not sponsored), just because it's best for this drink, the flavor and combination with the milky Marie biscuits. I also added non-dairy creamer, topped it with freshly whipped cream and biscuit crumble. You can get the sweetness from condensed milk, but not too much, add a little simple syrup to taste. To make the simple syrup, combine one part of sugar plus one part water, bring to boil until the sugar dissolve. Once cool, keep it refrigerate. Marie

Resep: Hotteok 호떡 (Korean Filled Pancake) Recipe

Image
A flashback to Seoul, my lastest trip to South Korea was last year, read about my most viewed writing 15 Must Eat Korean Food Seoul   and the video Must Eat Korean Food in Seoul  on my Youtube channel. Hotteok ( 호떡 ) is generally sweet but I found the savory version filled with Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with vegetables) at Namdaemun Market. The sweet Hotteok usually filled with brown sugar, sometimes sweetened red bean, but you can go with pretty much anything from nutella to cheese. I think it will work with cinnamon sugar too. This recipe is modified from Maangchi , yes my favorite Korean Youtuber. Anyway check out my Youtube for the video. Ingredients : 1 cup bread flour (high protein wheat flour) 1/2 cup luke warm water 1 tsp dry yeast 2 tbsp cooking oil 1 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt sweetened red bean, as needed more flour for forming the dough oil for frying Watch the video for the directions Find me on: Youtube  and  Instagram   @heytheresia  for daily food and travel upd

Resep: Egg Free Matcha Tiramisu / Eggless Green Tea Tiramisu Recipe

Image
After few attempts finally, Egg Free Matcha Tiramisu . I don't think Matcha Tiramisu is Tiramisu because it's different, let's say it's another matcha dessert that in my opinion it best served cold or even frozen. Tiramisu is Tiramisu, classic Italian dessert made from mascarpone cheese with sponge cake layer, the combination of bitter sweet chocolate and coffee. But if you're into matcha then why not, anything matcha sounds great. Keep it simple with few ingredients but my suggestion, please use the best ingredients you can get. Room temperature mascarpone cheese, pure matcha powder, cold whipping cream, things to note for making this eggless matcha tiramisu. Ingredients : Cream cheese layer: 200 gr mascarpone cheese 250 ml whipping cream / liquid 1/2 cup sugar or more if you like it sweeter a pinch of salt Matcha layer: 2 tbsp pure matcha powder 250 ml warm water 12 pcs lady fingers 2-3 tbsp pure matcha powder for layering Directions : Beat cream cheese and sugar

When it comes to dining at a luxurious hotel, buffet restaurant is probably the most popular. Once I came to Mandarin Oriental Jakarta when about applying for Schengen Visa as the hotel is located just beside the German Embassy. I've heard (a lot) that they are known for their cakes collection, also they're the first that introduced Cronuts in Jakarta, and it is still a hunt for the certain citizens. A hybrid of croissant and doughnut, found by Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City. Well here, The Cake Shop, one of the finest dessert destination in Jakarta, offers more than cronuts, to mention, chocolate pralines, assorted truffles, macarons, individual and whole cakes with very interesting creations. It's getting closer to Valentine's Day, in case you want to make DIY (do it yourself) thing for your love ones, how about Cake Pops ? It's very easy yet they look adorable. You'll need very few ingredients, cake, chocolate, and your favorite ingredients to be combined with.  First, cake as the base, store bought is just fine or you can use cake mix, or make your own from scratch. It's also possible to use banana bread, please check out my Banana Bread recipe. The amount of the wet ingredients may vary, depends on how moist is your cake. The easiest way is to combine little by little until it holds together. Resep: Silky Matcha Green Tea Pudding with Coconut Sauce Recipe

Image
I'm not really into pudding but yes for jelly and of course matcha . If you're following me on Instagram then you'll probably notice from captions, pictures, and videos that I've shared, anything matcha will be great BUT not that jasmine-like fragrant, I called it fake, well I hate it because it's absolutely different though it is only occur in Indonesia. So, let me share basic matcha powder that can be found in most of supermarket in Indonesia. The Korean brand is the easiest one to get as based on my experience it's available at larger supermarket. Usually I bought matcha powder when I travel abroad as there are more options. It's possible to replace milk with non-dairy milk if you're vegan or lactose intolerant. I like it with soy milk or almond milk better than using regular milk. The most important thing is the agar and jelly powder measurement, do not put too much because it will make it firmer. Anyway, here are things you'll need for mak

Koule Ice Cream at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Jakarta

Image
From Singapore to Jakarta, Scoopz is just opened in Pantai Indah Kapuk . It's  Koule, a place for you, if you're looking for exotic ice cream flavor. First, let me start with  Lava Cake (IDR 65.000) served with a scoop of ice cream of your choice. Warm bitter sweet chocolate cake, gooey in the center, combined with delicate cempedak ice cream, a reason for me to smile haha.. not joking, but I can't hide when I'm having something special that makes me happy. It was not the best lava cake but that cempedak ice cream!!  Not too sweet, solid texture, real fruit taste on every bite. If you have no idea, cempedak taste like a mix between jackfruit and durian . The cutest you can find here is  Scoopz Dimsum (IDR 49.000) appearance was quite attractive, ice cream inside bamboo steamer, smoky effect from dry ice, cute shapes, unfortunately the size was too small. Who's with me? I enjoy having potato fries with ice cream, fast food restaurant is the only place where I c

German Christmas Tradition: Stollen Bread Making at Marche Indonesia

Image
My first Marche experience is when I was in Germany, one to remember they have delicious pretzel. Here in Jakarta they have 2 outlets, at Plaza Senayan and in the center of Jakarta at Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall. If I may ask, what's your favorite from Marche? Will you agree me if I say R östi ? Marche have amazing  R östi, a very simple hearty dish but yet delightful. A Swiss dish made from grated potatoes as the main ingredients, some other ingredients may included such as cheese and wurst . Moreover, they also offer wide range of veggies to choose from the salad bar, of course with various dressing options. But personally, I prefer their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. Well, it's getting closer to Christmas, a special thing from Marche, I got a chance to see the Stollen Bread Making. Stollen Bread is popular in Germany that is usually made before Christmas. To experience the making of Stollen Bread , it was fun and of course the best part was the tasting session. Unlike mo

A New Gelateria in Jakarta: Grom Gelato Indonesia vs Italy?

Image
NO! It's hard for me when it comes to compare things that I had earlier especially in foreign country with ones in Indonesia. If you're following me on Instagram you may notice that I have a huge crush on gelato , and so ice cream and soft serve. Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream. But it is different, a very simple proof, it is taken not with round ice cream scooper but sort of paddle. I'm talking about the American style ice cream that is rich and creamy while gelato is more likely light, soft with elastic texture. It's the taste, texture, also the main ingredient. Gelato is generally made from milk or sometimes with small amount of cream.  There are not many places I know here in Jakarta that serve gelato. It is dominated with soft serve, it's very easy to name places for soft serve, they have many flavors to choose with some unique variations of toppings and attractive appearance.  When I heard that Grom just opened their first outlet in Jakarta, yes t
