Byron Selective - Bandung

Image
It's been a while, I finally made it to update this blog again. Also beside sharing recipes, it's a resto review. I've been very busy lately, well actually for the past few months (read: almost a year). Allow me to share, so for the past few months we, me and my partner, we got lots of project that we feel blessed. There are still many waiting to be finished. We made video content for social media, mostly cooking video. Not an easy thing, we're still learning anyway but hey I think we really can make it better day by day. As it's getting organized, I hope I can have more time to write here, also to make my own content especially for my Youtube channel. This year is gonna be fabulous. Byron Selective. This place, located in Progo, close to some other cafes and restos. Precisely, it's beside the famous Jonas Photo Studio, and there's a connection door in between. I think I saw some pictures on Instagram about this place then  Truffle Fries So, the uppermost to

Resep: Chicken Nanban with Tartar Sauce (Japanese Fried Chicken) Recipe

Image
Started few months ago when I saw a picture of Chicken Nanban on Instagram , then I tried to find out about how to make my own. This recipe is inspired by my favorite Cooking With Dog on Youtube, also Jun's Kitchen that cooks with his orange tabby cat, super attractive, and yes reminds me of Kimi my orange tabby!  So, it's actually a very easy dish, but you need to make your sweet sour nanban sauce ahead and of course the tartar sauce. To make nanban sauce, you probably need less vinegar if using regular white vinegar, if you're not consume alcohol then replace the mirin with water and add more sugar to taste. Ingredients:  300 gr chicken fillet 1 egg 1 clove garlic 150 gr flour or as needed salt and pepper to taste oil for frying Nanban Sauce: 60 ml mirin or water (add more sugar if needed) 60 ml rice vinegar 45 ml soy sauce or to taste 2 tbsp sugar Tartar Sauce: 1/2 cup Japanese mayonaise 1/2 minced onion (small), rinsed with cold water 1 hard boiled egg 2 tbsp minced pic

SEJIWA COFFEE BANDUNG - PROGO

Image
I spent more times in Bandung lately, doing my food video thing here. Packed - tight schedules is killing me, definitely need a break. After finishing 22 videos (yes that's a lot), we decided to go to a new coffee shop located in Jalan Progo, an area that already filled with cafes and coffee shops. Sejiwa Coffee , sounds very local though, the place is quite modern, spacious, ground for the non-smoking, upstairs for smoking. You know that I'm not a coffee person but I do drink coffee sometimes not everyday, and always go for something cold, like the Iced Creme Brulee Latte (IDR 38.000) Iced Creme Brulee Latte strawberry juice I've heard from some of my friends that the service getting worse on weekend, they waited the order for an hour but I hope it will get better. Anyway, talking about the menu, from all day breakfast to smoothie bowl, pasta to salad, we got The Megs (IDR 35.000) creamy - mayo based salad topped with feta and fried potato skin. Truffle Fries (IDR 30.00

Mie Naripan 127: Best Yamin Noodle in Bandung

Image
A humble place to eat yamin noodle and Chinese Food in Bandung, generous portion, various side dishes, and lots of condiments.

Yoforia Yogurt Studio: Coffee Meets Yogurt

Image
OK it's been a while since my last blog post. I've heard the talk about this pop-up yogurt studio (sounds cool already) named Yoforia . They have their very first pop-up at Paris Van Java, Bandung. To me, it's the hippest mall in the city though nothing much to do but shopping. First, what makes Yoforia special? We'll talk about their creation later. It's the design, packaging, simple, and yes Insta-genic. Nothing much on the menu, there's no fulfilling food but light bites such as chicken wings, potatoes, with yogurt base sauce. Then the special one, Yogurt Coffee. Using yogurt instead of milk, he got Kuro Yofocinno , espresso - yogurt drink, I must say it's very interesting, a bit sour, bitter, and sweet. Feels like drinking yogurt anyway, not coffee. For me, it's  Berry Smooth , light and fresh, not too sweet to my palate, great job!! I know that it's gonna be the one to order again on my next visit. The idea is just amazing, something new for our

Travel: Trizara Resorts

Image
Have you experience camping? Some of you probably had the experience while in school. Sleeping in real tent, sleeping bag, camp fire. I was excited when I heard about this place, welcome to a newly opened resort in Lembang, it's Trizara Resort . Offering a different experience, glamping, a luxury camping with resort services, comfy bed, a great idea for a weekend getaway. Yes it's not just a camping site, but unlike any other resort, because here you'll sleep in a real tent. Anyway, they also have function room (I mean tent) for company gathering.  It took about a year to build this resort, team up with the locals, definitely an interesting story about this place. Based on simplicity, a peaceful place that blend harmoniously with its surrounding. Not only the nature but the people. Their staffs are the people from near by village, I believe it will bring positive impact for both sides. The Room You don't need to set up the tent, just check-in and check-out. There are fe
