Nomz Kitchen & Pastry Grand Indonesia: New Menu

Ones behind Nomz, Arnold Poernomo and Pastry Chef Kim Pangestu. Famous for their sweet treats, but how's the food? At this time, I'd like to introduce some of their new menu.

First let's start with something fresh, salad. I've been a fan of Nomz's Tomato Salad for quite a while, now they have two more, Middle Eastern Salad (IDR 80.000) and Fried Calamari Salad (IDR 60.000). Not for everyone, but me as one who really into greens. Calamari salad might suit to people in common, dressed with balsamic lemon, topped with fresh arugula, coriander, and shaved parmesan. My guessing it's balsamic reduction as it's sweeter than balsamic vinegar. Meanwhile, Middle Eastern Salad is actually tabbouleh, usually made using bulgur but they replaced it with quinoa, yes for superfood! Pretty healthy yet fulfill the hunger longer. Have no idea what's quinoa? Google it, it's 2015, eat your superfood!

Move on to Nomz Prawn Roll (IDR 105.000) garlic chili prawn, gremolata, lemon, coriander, lettuce, pickled chili.

Miso Roasted Salmon (IDR 105.000) coriander leek salad, soy-chili dressing, jasmine rice. Not really into salmon but it was nice, perfectly cooked, mild miso taste wise, the most important it's not fishy.

Nomz Half Roasted Chicken (IDR 95.000) cheesy cream corn and gremolata. The chicken was decent, though the creamy corn was quite addicting.

Pork Belly Udon (IDR 105.000) chewy udon noodles served in dashi broth with egg tofu and charred leeks as side. Mild comforting soup, while the pork belly was super tasty, melt in mouth, a guilty pleasure meal. Though I did not find that the charred leeks is necessary for this dish.

Feeling really hungry? It's a relief that here, portion is always generous, as like Nomz Battered Chicken Burger (IDR 85.000) battered chicken on brioche bun with lettuce dressed Spanish onion and spicy mayonaise.

Duck Confit (IDR 105.000) with sambal matah, sambal bawang, mango salad, and jasmine rice. Finaly, Indonesian food. Duck's meat was tender, crispy skin, topped with sweet serundeng (toasted shredded coconut).

I'm saving the best for the last, Nomz Ossobuco (IDR 160.000). Veal shank, extremely tender, juicy and flavorful, served with creamy truffle risotto. Seriously they taking it seriously, with the truffle, portion was really huge but you surely do not want to share it with anyone.

Onto the dessert line, here's is the newest Sticky Date Pudding (IDR 60.000) served with sweet caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, sweet sweet sweet. Definitely made for a sweet-toothed person, not me, personally I'd rather go for Lust (IDR 60.000) diced watermelon, jasmine chantilly cream, topped with honeycomb bits, the cream was not too sweet, soft, and it has pleasant tea flavor. Verdict? Nomz Ossobuco is one should be in order.
