Image
I'm not really into pudding but yes for jelly and of course matcha . If you're following me on Instagram then you'll probably notice from captions, pictures, and videos that I've shared, anything matcha will be great BUT not that jasmine-like fragrant, I called it fake, well I hate it because it's absolutely different though it is only occur in Indonesia. So, let me share basic matcha powder that can be found in most of supermarket in Indonesia. The Korean brand is the easiest one to get as based on my experience it's available at larger supermarket. Usually I bought matcha powder when I travel abroad as there are more options. It's possible to replace milk with non-dairy milk if you're vegan or lactose intolerant. I like it with soy milk or almond milk better than using regular milk. The most important thing is the agar and jelly powder measurement, do not put too much because it will make it firmer. Anyway, here are things you'll need for mak

Resep: Baked Mashed Potato Recipe with Cheese!

Image
Personally when it comes to side dishes, mashed potato is surely my absolute favorite. It's perfect for steak or any BBQ. I'm a big fan of potatoes, from fries to baked potatoes. It is possible to serve without baking it but I prefer the baked version. I'd like to add salt and some garlic while boiling the potatoes as it will give extra flavor. Here are some tips for making the better mashed potato: to prevent potatoes from browning, soak potatoes in cold water while peeling and cutting the rest start cold, place the potatoes and seasoning into the water then turn on the heat cook the potatoes until soft and tender (use a fork or knife) but do not overcooked as it will absorb too much water warm up the milk, butter, and cheese (or at least at room temperature), do not pour cold milk Ingredients : 3 large potatoes, peeled, cut into cubes 1-2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup grated cheese (I used cheddar, better with parmesan, or both) or as much as you like 1/2 cup milk 1 tbsp

Welcoming the year of Monkey with early Chinese New Year lunch at Shang Palace , Shangri-la Hotel Jakarta . How does it relate, celebrating Chinese New Year, it's a special occasion for Chinese, the certain time when the whole family come together, sit and savor good foods. Saying it's too early but I'd like to share with you these particular dishes to celebrate Chinese New Year. Started my lunch with something fresh, thirst quencher, Lychee Tea . It was exactly my fifth iced Lychee Tea for the whole week. Unlike the usual, as frequently stick to water or unsweetened tea.  Shall we start with Deep Fried Prawn ? Coated with mayonaise, and accompanied fried prawn ball with foie gras . Prawn mayo was nice, juicy yet not mushy, but mayo was too sweet for my liking. One bite of prawn with a piece of strawberry was outrageously delectable, yes the mouthwatering one. For the choice of poultry, Crispy Chicken with Mango in Spicy Sauce . Salty savoury chicken combined with tangy and

Resep: Mozzarella Squares - Fried Cheese Recipe

Image
It's just fried mozzarella cheese but in squares. I know that you must be familiar with mozzarella sticks or maybe balls? But here, it's hard to get fresh mozzarella particularly bite size mozzarella balls. Classic rules for making "breading foods", flour first, egg wash, then crumbs. Double coating is very important, also do not fry the breaded cheese right away but put in freezer for couple hours. Ingredients : 100 gr mozzarella cheese, cut in squares about 1.5 cm oil for frying Flour mixture: 1 cup all purpose flour 1 tsp paprika powder or less salt to taste Egg wash: 1 egg 2 tbsp milk or water salt to taste Crumbs: panko bread crumbs dried oregano (optional) Directions : Combine each part of the ingredients. First, coat the mozzarella with flour mixture, remove the excess flour then into the egg wash. It is important to do double coating (because it's mozzarella cheese, it will melt very quick) so put the mozzarella back into the flour, egg wash again, finall

Koule Ice Cream at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Jakarta

Image
From Singapore to Jakarta, Scoopz is just opened in Pantai Indah Kapuk . It's  Koule, a place for you, if you're looking for exotic ice cream flavor. First, let me start with  Lava Cake (IDR 65.000) served with a scoop of ice cream of your choice. Warm bitter sweet chocolate cake, gooey in the center, combined with delicate cempedak ice cream, a reason for me to smile haha.. not joking, but I can't hide when I'm having something special that makes me happy. It was not the best lava cake but that cempedak ice cream!!  Not too sweet, solid texture, real fruit taste on every bite. If you have no idea, cempedak taste like a mix between jackfruit and durian . The cutest you can find here is  Scoopz Dimsum (IDR 49.000) appearance was quite attractive, ice cream inside bamboo steamer, smoky effect from dry ice, cute shapes, unfortunately the size was too small. Who's with me? I enjoy having potato fries with ice cream, fast food restaurant is the only place where I c

Sushi Sen PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk) Jakarta

Image
A new Japanese food place in PIK, Sushi Sen , it is located at Ruko Crown Golf beside BC's Cone. It has been around 2 months since my last visit, an issue about the water in this area pulled down the hype for quite a while. But it's getting better. Anyway, talking about PIK, this place is already packed with dessert cafe and restaurants, come under Japanese restaurant. How about sushi? Answering the question, Sushi Sen is ready to serve modern Japanese food for lunch and dinner. Unlike most restaurants in PIK, they open for lunch until 2 pm and open again for dinner at 5.30 pm.  Main door is beside the building, sliding door, Japanese ornaments, dominated with wood color. There are two seating area, must say that they really take it seriously for the interior, though I did not notice something catchy still it was like anywhere else but in PIK. Started with  Marinated Salmon Carpaccio (IDR 98.000) as the appetizer. Sliced salmon marinated in sour salty soy sauce topped with av
