New!! LA COSTILLA Bandung


Located in Karangsari a step away from jalan Setiabudi, it's in between Saka Bistro Bar and Vermont. A new spot in Bandung, this place is cute. Feels like in Bali, they have many Insta-worth spot so get your camera ready. Affordable Casual Dining - their tag line, to describe their menu, modern western food with a Spanish-Mexican twist. I'm not talking about burrito or tacos but they have jalapeno poppers and horchata. 

Waktu datang kesana udah cukup ramai walaupun masih baru buka, sepertinya akan jadi hits banget karena tempatnya memang lucu untuk foto-foto terutama di bagian belakang dengan design menarik, dominasi putih dan spot #ootd taman kaktus.



White painted wall, blue chairs, must say this is my current favorite spot in Bandung. It is not a coffee shop though they have coffee, some mocktails, and yes horchata. Horchata is a rice milk based drink, commonly flavored with cinnamon and vanilla, popular in Latin America countries and also Spain.

Started with Calamary Gremolata (IDR 38.000) and Crispy Belly (IDR 48.0000), actually I really want to try their Jalapeno Poppers but it was sold out, better luck next time. Crispy belly was good, super crispy, salty, balanced out with the mango salad, sweet spicy sauce, great one to share. Next, Pizza de Costillas (IDR 58.000) light and crispy edges, tasty filling, but came out with BBQ sauce which was too sweet to my liking, should go for the Loca Nachos Pizza next time. 

Baby back ribs is the specialty here but we ordered beef ribs Costillas de Res (IDR 98.000) served with potato croquette and salad, super tender and flavorful, smoky sweet BBQ sauce, yum! Coming back soon to try some other from the menu.

Food was nice, their specialty is baby back ribs, but we decided to order the beef ribs, well it was really good though. It's something new in Bandung, very interesting menu, good place, nice ambiance, #ootd spots. Anyway I put down the menu below, if you've been here then what do you think?

It's delicious but really I could not finish one portion, yes thank's to the amount of mayo. So, let's just share.  Mentai Rice , it's actually very easy to make as long as you have kitchen blow torch or use the oven to broil the mentaiko sauce. The sauce itself is made from mayonaise, preferably Japanese mayo like Kewpie and mentaiko (pollock roe / cod roe). If it's hard to find then simply replace it with tobiko (flying fish roe). Please do not skip the fish roe. Anyway, I bought the mentaiko from Tokopedia around IDR 270k for 500 grams, that's a lot, I know. Alternatively, take a look at Papaya Supermarket or other big supermarket as mentaiko is kinda hard to find here. I made 3 dishes with this Mentai sauce, the first one is the one with crabstick served with rice that mixed with nori powder, you can also use furikake. The second is nori rice with salmon aburi. Resep: Savory Waffle (Pepperoni + Cheddar Cheese) Resep

I've made waffle many times, and I prefer of light and crispy waffle to bread-like waffle. Adding some tapioca flour gives a quite significant result, also separating the egg though mostly I skipped that phase. Anyway, waffles are great with syrup, chocolate, fruits, and ice cream but have you ever tried savory waffle? With bacon, smoked chicken, sausage, cheese, or pepperoni. Freshly made waffles are best, when making waffles make sure that you have all the toppings ready on the table.  Ingredients : 1.5 cup all purpose flour 1 cup tapioca flour 2 eggs 1/2 cup plain yogurt 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp baking soda 1 cup milk 1/4 cup melted butter 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1/4 cup pepperoni, sliced 1/4 cup green onion, thinly sliced 1/4 cup red cheddar cheese, grated salt to taste few tbsp of water, if needed Directions : For the dry mixture, add flour, tapioca, salt, baking soda, and baking powder into a bowl, mix well. Nomz Kitchen & Pastry Grand Indonesia: New Menu

Ones behind Nomz, Arnold Poernomo and Pastry Chef Kim Pangestu. Famous for their sweet treats, but how's the food? At this time, I'd like to introduce some of their new menu. First let's start with something fresh, salad. I've been a fan of Nomz's Tomato Salad for quite a while, now they have two more, Middle Eastern Salad (IDR 80.000) and Fried Calamari Salad (IDR 60.000). Not for everyone, but me as one who really into greens. Calamari salad might suit to people in common, dressed with balsamic lemon, topped with fresh arugula, coriander, and shaved parmesan. My guessing it's balsamic reduction as it's sweeter than balsamic vinegar. Meanwhile, Middle Eastern Salad is actually tabbouleh, usually made using bulgur but they replaced it with quinoa , yes for superfood! Pretty healthy yet fulfill the hunger longer.
